132.000 voltz, El Caso Ezpeleta
Ezpeleta podría ser un barrio más. Pero no lo dejaron.Su geografía la atraviesan las ondas de una planta de alta tensión. Allí viven hombres y mujeres que se cansaron de pedirle a la Justicia que hiciera algo con la invisible contaminación que los estaba matando.
Llegué a Ezpeleta buscando una historia y me encontré con muchas.
La primera tarde conocí a una mujer, que con toda naturalidad decidió desnudarse para mostrarme una cicatriz íntima y profunda. Ese gesto me empujó a buscar en otros cuerpos. Otra se había ocupado de construir un mapa en el que marcaba con cruces las casas de las víctimas. A esa cartografía intenté encontrarle imágenes. A partir de entonces, algunos dejaron que se vean sus heridas, las huellas de su dolor, las marcas que exhiben casi como documentos de lo que en un tiempo supieron ser sus cuerpos enteros, sus familias completas.

Ezpeleta could have been another kind of neighborhood, but it was not allowed to be so. Its lands are crossed by the waves of a high-voltage power plant. There, live men and women who have relentlessly requested Justice to do something about the invisible polluting evil that is killing them. I arrived in Ezpeleta seeking one story and I found many.
In the first afternoon I met a woman, who naturally decided to take off her clothes to show me a very deep and intimate scar. This gesture drove me to look for more bodies. Another woman had drawn up a map where the houses of all the victims were crossed out. I tried to figure how to put that cartography into images. As of that moment, some others started to unveil their wounds, their traces of pain; those body marks were like a living log to show that they used to be unhurt and had complete families.
