Chacras de Coria, Mendoza. Durante la madrugada del 12 de enero de 1977 un grupo de tareas se lleva de la “Casa Grande” a mi abuelo, Victorio Cerutti. Esa misma noche, a pocas cuadras, también secuestran a mi tío Omar. Meses más tarde, en la ESMA, mi abuelo firma bajo tortura la cesión de sus tierras en Mendoza. En esas tierras vivía junto con su familia. Allí su padre sembró y cultivó viñedos, olivares y frutales desde que llegó de su Italia natal. Chacras de Coria, Mendoza. En las tierras que pertenecieron a mi abuelo Victorio se construye un barrio nuevo bautizado como "Wil-Ri", usando las iniciales de los nombres falsos Federico Williams y Hector Ríos que corresponden a dos torturadores de la ESMA, Francis William Whamond y Jorge Radice. A las calles las nombran Honor, Amistad, Caridad, Justicia, Equidad. Se convierte en un barrio de chalets con jardines y piletas. Los chicos pasean en bicicletas y las dejan en cualquier parte sin temor a que nadie las robe. Chacras de Coria, Mendoza. En 2007, al cumplirse 30 años del secuestro y desaparición, regreso con mi hija y mi hermana mayor a visitar el barrio y lo que queda de la “Casa Grande”. Chacras de Coria, Mendoza. En otoño de 2011, vuelvo. Sola. Una vez más intento construir mi relato, mi historia. Encuentro huellas, rastros de aquella vida, evocaciones de aquellas muertes. Y la naturaleza sigue ahí. Testigo de todo lo bueno y lo malo que ocurrió en esa casa, en esas calles. El agua, ansiada y sanadora, corre finalmente.La memoria es un relato hecho con los fragmentos que somos capaces de encontrar.
Chacras de Coria, Mendoza. During the early hours of January 12, 1977, a task force took my grandfather, Victorio Cerutti, from the "Casa Grande". That same night, a few blocks away, they also kidnap my uncle Omar. Months later, in the ESMA, my grandfather signs under torture the cession of his lands in Mendoza. In those lands he lived together with his family. There his father sowed and cultivated vineyards, olive groves and fruit trees since he arrived from his native Italy. The streets are named Honor, Friendship, Charity, Justice, Equity. It becomes a neighborhood of villas with gardens and pools. In 2007, 30 years after the abduction and disappearance, I return with my daughter and my older sister to visit the neighborhood and what is left of the "Casa Grande". Chacras de Coria, Mendoza. In the fall of 2011, I returned. Alone. Once again I try to build my story, my history. I find traces, pieces of that life, evocations of those deaths. And nature is still there. Witness of everything good and bad that happened in that house, in those streets. The water, longed for and healing, finally runs. The Memory is a story made with the fragments we are able to find.
